Uma Thurman
has the finest set of legs in Hollywood. Plus,
of course, she is beautiful, talented and smart.
Too bad she can't cook, though; we were ready
for a proposal.
Uma Karuna Thurman was born April 29, 1970,
in Boston, Massachusetts, and had an eccentric,
multicultural upbringing. Her mother, Nena,
is a half-Swedish, half-German former psychotherapist,
while her father, Robert A.F. Thurman, is a
Tibetan Buddhist monk and a University of Columbia
professor. Uma was named after a Hindu deity
that is the "bestower of blessings."
As a teenager, Uma did not fit in. As if her
name wasn't different enough, she was lanky
and awkward as a child. Her long nose, which
today only adds a unique touch to her beautiful
face, was part of her misery. Rather than taking
part in the typical all-American extracurricular
activities, Uma had better things to do: act.
After earning recognition as one of Hollywood's
A-list actresses as the eccentric Mia Wallace
in Pulp Fiction, Uma entered the realm of Gotham
City as the venemous Poison Ivy in Batman and
Robin. Her cold-blooded killing only brought
her more fame when she became the star kung
fu villain in Kill Bill. She lit up theatres
again looking hotter than ever as Luke Wilson's
ex with super powers in My Super Ex-Girlfriend.
Uma Thurman is one of Hollywood's most enigmatic
actresses. Just as easily as she does a small
art house movie, she takes on a big blockbuster,
and just as she seems to be everywhere, she
disappears into obscurity. This beautiful and
talented actress has always kept her fans (and
her producers) wondering which direction she
will go in her next film: incest, glamour, murder,
deceit or pure evil -- Uma Thurman can do it
all. |

September 04,
2006
After watching the return of Superman on the
silver screen and celebrity couple Vince Vaughn
and Jennifer Aniston fighting it out in "The
Break-Up", Malaysians are now looking forward
to a 'combination' of the two movies in Uma
Thurman's latest romantic comedy "My Super
Ex-Girlfriend".
The movie, which also stars Luke Wilson and
Anna Faris, tops Cinema Online's poll for the
most anticipated movie of September at 27.46%
of the votes. Following closely in second and
third places are Micheal Mann's big screen version
of "Miami Vice" (22.71%) and "The
Devil Wears Prada" (16.95%) respectively.
"The Banquet" and "Little Man"
managed 9.83% of the votes each, while the comedic
trio of Owen Wilson, Kate Hudson, and Matt Dillon
in "You, Me and Dupree" is the least
anticipated movie of September at only 6.10%
of the votes. A total of 7.12% of the voters
are looking forward to other movies in September.
In "My Super Ex-Girlfriend", a guy
(Luke Wilson) breaks up with his girlfriend
(Thurman), only to discover that she is the
reluctant superhero, G-Girl. The woman scorned
unleashes her super wrath to humiliate and torment
him -- with hilarious results. |
