Name: Morgan Webb
Height: 5'7"
Birth Date: October 5, 1978
Birth Place: Toronto, Canada
Occupation: Model
From simple
philosophy student to the programmer's pin-up
girl, Morgan Webb had quite a ride. She survived
the dot-com bust and found a cushy spot in the
offices of TechTV, where her expertise with
Windows, worthy of making Bill Gates gasp, and
her popular cubicle cam (now defunct) quickly
made her the apple in the weary Microsoft user's
eyes. She's cute, quirky and has a smile that
would make the staunchest XP champion capitulate.
To the delight of computer wizards worldwide,
Morgan Webb was born October 5, 1978 just outside
Toronto, but her family soon moved to Los Angeles.
At only 5 years of age, the cute, outgoing Morgan
starred in commercials for McDonald's and other
companies. Some may still remember her reciting
the Big Mac's ingredients to a patty cake game.
Her parents limited her TV time in an attempt
to get her to spend more time outdoors. Instead,
young Morgan would spend hours playing video
games (first Atari, then moving on to the original
Nintendo). Hence her love for gaming stayed
strong. She excelled in Legend of Zelda and
other role-playing games, and would often practice
secretly in hopes of beating her older brother
at it.
In junior high, Morgan began what would become
a lifetime obsession: fiddling with her hair
color. She would experiment dying it with different
Kool-Aid colors, which would inexplicably always
result in a reddish hue. She is rumored to have
shaved it all off at one point.
She was once the co-producer and co-host of
TechTV's Screen Savers, where she doled out
daily Windows tips to love-stricken techies.
Today she co-hosts X-Play, a computer game special,
for the same channel.
The decision by Jennifer Lopez to quit the film Dallas intrigued a lot of industry watchers and fueled speculations on the health of the film which has seen frequent changes in its cast and crew. Lopez was to play the part of Ewing's alcoholic wife, Sue Ellen, with John Travolta playing the unscrupulous cowboy-hat wearing tycoon JR Ewing in the 20th Century production directed by ‘Bend it like Beckham’ director Gurinder Chaddha.
Though Lopez has been tight lipped about the reasons that prompted her to leave the project, PageSix, quoting an industry insider, reports that a sub par script and less-than-strapping John Travolta triggered the walk out. "The script sucks," said their source, "And John Travolta? If it had been a man's man like Ed Harris or Tommy Lee Jones . . . but you don't just go from doing 'Hairspray' to 'Dallas.' "
The film Hairspray, based on the similarly named Broadway production, is a musical comedy set for release in 2007 in which John Travolta plays the role of Edna Turnblad.
The film Dallas is based on the US television prime time soap that ran from 1978 to 1991. The serial dealt with love and betrayal among Texan oil magnates and was widely exported around the world. Australian Robert Luketic, who directed Lopez in "Monster-in-Law" and Reese Witherspoon in "Legally Blonde," was originally named as the director for the film but quit the project earlier this year citing "creative differences".
Jennifer Lopez is currently filming for Bordertown in which the singer plays a reporter from Chicago who travels to the Mexican border town of Juarez to investigate the unsolved killings of some 300 women over 13-year period.
