undoubtedly one of the most famous models in
the world (and with no exaggeration, one of
the most beautiful). Merely in her late-twenties,
she seems poised for the kind of longevity in
the business not often seen among the top fashion
models, with endorsements and photo shoots coming

Heidi Klum (pronounced "Kloom") was
born June 1st, 1973, in Bergische Gladbach,
a small city in Germany. Practically destined
to be a fashion model, Heidi's father, Gunther,
worked for a cosmetics company, while her mother,
Erna, was a hairdresser.
18 years old and still in high school, Heidi
came across an ad for a model competition in
her area while reading a magazine. While she
was intrigued by the idea, she never even dreamed
of the possibility of entering, much less of
winning, but her friend had a different attitude
and encouraged her to send in some photos.
As one of the Victoria's Secret Angels, Heidi
made the transition from model to supermodel,
joining the ranks of Yasmeen Ghauri, Tyra Banks,
Helena Christensen, and Stephanie Seymour.
Glamorous mum-to-be Heidi Klum obviously reckons
that being in the family way is no reason to
keep her perfect pins under wraps. The German
supermodel proudly showed off her bump in a
sexy strapless minidress when she stepped out
for the launch party of Project Runway: Season
3 in the Big Apple this week.
The blonde bombshell, who was looking rather
more casual when she was snapped outside her
New York home earlier in the day, will become
a mother-of-three when she welcomes her second
child with husband Seal later this year. And
although she and her British beau admit they
are still getting used to the challenges of
bringing up two young children, they are both
looking forward to enlarging their brood.
"It does change the dynamic," confessed
the Victoria's Secret model. "We're a new
family and we're just figuring it out for ourselves.
We don't know everything and sometimes you can't
read everything in books. Sometimes you have
to figure out how things work for you, but it's
a lot of fun. We have always wanted to have
a big family and that's what we're working on
right now."
