Britney Jean
Spears was born on December 2, 1981, in Kentwood,
Louisiana. She always knew she wanted to pursue
a musical career and took her talents to her
local church, where she sang with the choir.
She even sang on national television, as a Star
Search contestant.
Britney Spears is a cultural phenomenon. Though
there have been pop music princesses before
her, none have had the impact, success and influence
that she does (though the Spice Girls gave it
a good shot before imploding spectacularly).
Britney Spears was destined to be in showbiz,
but few could have predicted the impact that
the former Mickey Mouse Club member would have.
From Africa to Asia, her posters, albums, and
style can be seen in almost all teenage bedrooms.
On the personal front, Britney is married to
her former back-up dancer Kevin Federline. They
apparently got married on September 18, 2004,
and after months of separation and weight gain
rumors, Britney announced that she is pregnant
in April 2005.
Sean Preston Federline (born on September 14,
2005 at the Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center
before 1 PM).
Step son: Kaleb (born on Tuesday, July 20, 2004
in Orange County; mother: Shar Jackson), Kori
(born on Wednesday, July 31, 2002 in Orange
County; mother: Shar Jackson). |

Britney Spears has won an apology from a publication
which claimed her marriage is over.
The National Enquirer claimed in its British
and Irish editions last month that the pop star
was set to divorce husband Kevin Federline.
A retraction and apology was printed in both
editions on Tuesday.
"We now accept that their marriage is not
over and they are not getting divorced. These
allegations are untrue and we now accept Britney's
position that the statements are without foundation.
We apologise for any distress caused,"
it read.
The stories were headlined: "Britney marriage
is over!" and "Britney and Kevin:
And now their divorce!"
Spears did not ask for damages.
Spears opted to pursue the British and Irish
editions of the Florida-based National Enquirer
because the libel laws in these countries make
it easier and quicker to sue - a trend dubbed
"libel tourism". |
